Geography
Located on the west side of the United States, Yuma, Arizona, is bordered on the north by Utah, the east by New Mexico, the west by California and Nevada, and the south by Mexico. Located in the desert, Yuma is one of the hottest cities in the United States and is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the sunniest place on Earth.
Yuma is located at 32°41′32″N 114°36′55″W / 32.69222°N 114.61528°W / 32.69222; -114.61528 (32.692148, -114.615389), close to the border, with California to the west and with Mexico to the south. Yuma is just west of the Gila and Colorado River confluence.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 106.7 square miles (276.4 km2), of which, 106.6 square miles (276.2 km2) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km2) of it (0.07%) is water.
